I’ve been lucky enough to learn from the greats in this business. People like Dan Wieden when he was teaching workshops at the University of Oregon. People like Jelly Helm and Mark Fenske, who I had as professors. And people like Tracy Wong, Kevin Lynch, and Marshall Ross, who I had as creative directors.
I fell into advertising because I was good at drawing and I’m driven by a love for crafting things. Creativity has been a part of my soul since I was a little kid. Halfway into my career, I officially switched roles from art directer to writer after becoming somewhat prolific at writing TV scripts. But on any given day I might call myself an animator, an editor, a photographer, a painter, even a book binder. And yes, also a creative director.
